Sunon Nomenclature:
Every Sunon is defined by a Model Number and a Part Number. The complete
part nomenclature is Model Number followed by Part Number.
First,
let's discuss Model Number format and meaning.
• FAN SERIES - Two letter combination specifing fan series.
Different series identifiers are GB, GM, KD, PMD, PMB. Note KD is shown as KDE for
some products distributed by Sunon USA. KD and KDE fans are equivalent.
• VOLTAGE - Two digits representing fan input voltage. 05=5VDC,
12=12VDC, 24=24VDC, 48=48VDC.
• FRAME SIZE - Two digits representing fan size in millimeters. 17=17mm, 01=20mm,
02=25mm, 03=30mm, 35=35mm, 38=38mm, 04=40mm, 45=45mm, 05=50mm, 55=55mm, 06=60mm, 07=70mm,
75=75mm, 08=80mm, 09=92mm, 97=97mm, 12=120mm.
• FRAME MATERIAL - Single letter, P=PBT Plastic, A=Aluminum.
• FRAME THICKNESS - Single letter, E=6mm, D=8mm, F=10mm, G=12mm,
H=15mm, K=20mm, B=24mm, T=25mm, O=28mm, N=30mm, L=32mm, Y=33mm, I=35mm, M=38mm, O=40mm,
P=56mm.
• SPEED - Single letter or number, X=Super, 1=High, 2=Middle,
3=Low, 4=Extra Low.
• MOTOR POLES - Hyphen followed by single number,
8=8 Poles, 6=6 Poles. If not present, by default fan has 4 Poles.
Besides the Model Number, most Sunon fans also have a Part Number. The
part number gives detailed information about internal fan construction.
Example: P/N: 13.MS.A.GN
13 - Motor model
MS - MagLev design
A - Auto restart
GN - RoHS compliance
Other codes and their meanings are:
(2) - Two ball bearing
(9) - 9 blades
G - Big hub
N - Smaller hub
F - 3rd wire with frequency generation waveform
R - 3rd wire with rotation detector waveform
U - Upgrade
Lastly, each fan may or may not have a connector attached. Connector
descriptions are independent of the Sunon model number and part number.
